Before the Beginning and After the End
Bill Weiss

December 6 2025 - January 18 , 2026

When I read “The Four Quartets” by T.S. Elliot I was “given” a mental image of the natural world in a state of Before and After, before the creation of the natural world and after the dissolution of the natural world.

The images in these paintings and drawings are the visualizations of this concept as suggested by the poem. These works look like a type of all over field or undifferentiated visual plasma, Being and Non-Being as a universal image.

The drawings and paintings in this exhibit were done between 1991 and 2025, and made in my NYC and Los Osos studios.
