I see these paintings as reflecting a passing of time. Not in a historical or "Deep Time" sense, but more so in a way that might demonstrate the way something is viewed at various points throughout a day. Shade vs sun. Daytime vs nighttime. The glow of the moon.
The title suggesting a playfulness while also recognizing the paintings' musicality. A duality of feeling.
Dennis Foster lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He studied photography at Pacific Northwest College of Arts. His most recent exhibitions include Same Thing Twice at Nationale, Portland, OR.
