Saul Alegria

b. 1987
Lives and works in Richmond, CA

Saul Alegria is a painter and sculptor from the Bay Area in California. Alegria's work is heavily influenced by his preoccupation with animals and video games. He is able to get his obsessions down rather quickly and beautifully on paper in the form of brightly colored watercolor paintings. Although Saul’s watercolors are hugely popular he also works in ceramics, mostly creating abstracted icons whose forms are derived from video games. Saul Alegria is a studio artist at NIAD in Richmond, CA.
